Book Summary of Interior Design The building boom and the establishment of a large number of industries all over the country has led to a great demand for good, professional interior designers. This profession is a hot career option these days. It is generally not realised that to obtain a proper visual arrangement and a pleasing appearance with utility value, a number of various inputs from different disciplines like environmental psychology, architecture, product design and furniture design are required. The interior designer also needs to know the intricacies of ceiling plans, lighting, interior detailing, materials, finishes, space planning, furnishing, fixtures and accessories. About Author : Dr. S.N. Chaudhari (M. Arch.) obtained his degree from Mumbai University and has been in the profession for the last 15 years. At present, he is running a consultancy firm Nirman in Mumbai providing clients with residential, corporate and institutional designs for their complete interiors. He has completed three mega projects in Mumbai for two multinational companies.
