The three-legged frog is a mythical creature according to Feng Shui and there is an entire history behind it.

According Chinese to legends it believed that the money frog was the wife of one of the eight immortals. She was turned in to a frog because of her greediness.

The Chinese believe that if a three-legged frog appears near a house, that house receives fortune or news relating to wealth benefit.

The frog got its name ‘Chan Chu’ because of a little frog, which is called a ‘pakua,’ (baby) that sits on the back of the three-legged toad just below the crown.

Carrying a pakua on its back symbolises protection and the frog itself represents wealth. So, this artefact is believed to be a perfect combination of wealth and protection for a home.

The coin/s in the frog’s mouth has four holes in it/them and there are seven dots on its (frog’s) back which symbolise the great bear (constellation).

This frog should be generally placed in one’s living room or office. The frog should be placed at a diagonally opposite direction from the main door.

This allows the frog the direct view of the door. While placing the coin in the frog’s mouth, care should be taken so that the good luck sign on the coin  upwards. The coin too, should be facing the front door.

You can use up to nine frogs in your house at a time but the placement of all the frogs should be proper.
