The three-legged toad is also known as ‘Chan Chu’ and is considered as an auspicious, money-making symbol in Feng Shui.
The three-legged frog is a mythical creature according to Feng Shui and there is an entire history behind it.
According Chinese to legends it believed that the money frog was the wife of one of the eight immortals. She was turned in to a frog because of her greediness.
It is said that she stole a peach from the heaven and that is the reason she was transformed in to a Frog.
It is this natural greediness of the frog which is believed to bring prosperity wherever it’s kept.
The symbol of three-legged frog is often seen sitting on a pile of coins and also holds Chinese coin/s in its mouth.
The Chinese believe that if a three-legged frog appears near a house, that house receives fortune or news relating to wealth benefit.
The frog got its name ‘Chan Chu’ because of a little frog, which is called a ‘pakua,’ (baby) that sits on the back of the three-legged toad just below the crown.
Carrying a pakua on its back symbolises protection and the frog itself represents wealth. So, this artefact is believed to be a perfect combination of wealth and protection for a home.
The coin/s in the frog’s mouth has four holes in it/them and there are seven dots on its (frog’s) back which symbolise the great bear (constellation).
This (symbol of great bear and holes in coin/s) makes it a must-have article to increase your money.
The money frog is also believed to help in preventing bad luck that leads to bad fortune. It wards off bad energy that causes wealth loss.
Like, for instance, if your family has been facing financial problems for a considerable period of time or you find yourself splurging a lot of money for no apparent reason then keeping a money frog in your home is supposed to prevent you from splurging or losing money.
The money frog can also help in resolving almost every monetary issue that one in his/her day-to-day life.
This frog should be generally placed in one’s living room or office. The frog should be placed at a diagonally opposite direction from the main door.
This allows the frog the direct view of the door. While placing the coin in the frog’s mouth, care should be taken so that the good luck sign on the coin upwards. The coin too, should be facing the front door.
You can use up to nine frogs in your house at a time but the placement of all the frogs should be proper.
A three-legged frog should not be placed on the floor neither should it be placed at a heights higher than your waist. It is better if the frog is placed out of sight.
