KIN-TECH Solar charge controllers are used in small off grid solar PV systems. It uses PWM charging technology, so that as the battery reaches full charge, the PWM pulses slower, gradually tapering off the charging current. Low voltage disconnect protects the batteries from severe discharge by shutting off loads before the battery voltage drops to deep discharge levels. Solar charge controller or charge regulator is basically a voltage and/or current regulator to keep batteries from overcharging. It regulates the voltage and current coming from the solar panels going to the battery.
Solar charge controllers are specified by both amperage and voltage. You will need a solar controller that can support the voltage of your solar panel array, and then output to the battery bank's voltage (usually 12, 24 or 48VDC)
A PWM (Pulse Width Modulated) solar charge controller is the traditional style. They are robust, inexpensive and widely used in solar panel applications. PWM shunt controllers are used less often and mostly in applications where electrical interference is an issue.
