Kojic Acid Papaya Soap (Royale)

Kojic Acid soap is derived from Kojic acid, which is obtained from a fungi which was discovered in Japan. It has been discovered that if it is combined with other substances and compounds, it can be used as lightening agent to the skin. Kojic acid is a metabolic product of fungi. It affects the activity of tyrosinase by inhibiting the catecholase activity. Catecholase is an essential enzyme that limits the rate of the biosynthesis of melanin, a skin pigment, thus, causing dark pigmentation to lighten. Kojic acid is a substance found on certain fungi and plant sources, and it is found to be antibacterial and antifungal. Due to its usefulness as a lightening agent, it is used in skin care products to decrease hyperpigmentation, lighten pregnancy masks or melasma and blemishes in the body.
