Brewing tea is an art. This art is not very complicated if your concept is not clear then you end up in brewing either very strong tea or too light. Lets follow basic steps and master this art of brewing a perfect cup of tea.
Step 1 :- Right quantity of Green Tea
It is most important to determine right qty of tea required for a cup, especially when brewing with loose tea. 1 teaspoon i.e. 2 gram is ideal for brewing one cup i.e. 150 ml of tea. If it is a tea bag then one tea bag for 1 cup.
Step 2 : - Right temperature of water
Now that we are clear with the qty of tea and water second most important step is the temperature of water. You can use stove, hot plate or even microwave oven to heat the water. Boil the water upto 180 degree F i.e. 80 degree C. to determine the temperature of water you can use thermometer but if it is not available then watch the water while heating, stop heating just before water starts boiling. Best sign for this stage is popping sound of water or small bubbles inside water.
Step 3 :- Pouring & waiting
Now since water has reached the desired temperature, pour it into a mug or cup in which you have kept green tea or tea bag. Cover this mug or cup with lid and keep it for 2 -3 mins. Don’t exceed this time by 4 mins or else tea may get extra strong.
Step 4 :- Straining & serving
If you are brewing tea from loose tea pack then strain the liquid with the strainer. if tea is prepared with tea bags then before removing tea bag just dip this tea bag for 4 to five times.
step 5 :- allow the tea to cool for a while and then enjoy Lemor Green Tea.
Optional :- Adding flavour of your choice or even sugar depends upon your taste preferences.
Adding Milk is not at all recommended.
