Description:- , About The Author:- Col. Ved Prakash, FRGS was commissioned in 1957, into the famed Sikh Regiment of the Infantry, leading arm of the Indian Army. From the Dehradun Academy, he was posted to 3 Sikh, then engaged actively in the counter in surgery operations in the Naga Hills. Again in 1980s, he commanded 18 Assam Rigles in Mizo Hills, at the height of Mizo insurgency. Thus, not only was he blooded into the active battle against the Nagas as a young officers, he also saw action against the Mizos as a unit commander. This battle-field experience was invaluable in his life-long study of terrorism in the subsequent years, including his retired life, post-1989. The author took part in the 1962, 1965 and 1975 wars India fought after its Independence. His last service tenure was at the Army Headquarters (1987-89). He was awarded the FRGS by the Royal Geographical Society, London, for one of his recent books.
