Description:- , About The Author:- Susmita Sen Gupta teaches Political Science in the North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong. She had a brilliant academic career, holding positions in all public examinations. She stood 1st Class 1st in the M.A. Examination of NEHU, Shillong and was awarded a gold medal. She was felicitated at a Toppers Reception hosted by Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in 1986. She later earned the degrees of M.Phil. and Ph.D. from NEHU. She has done intensive research on the party system in India, regionalism, student movement, coalition politics, women and politics, ethnicity in the context of the tribal societies of North East India, politics of migration, globalization and so on. Her publications include a number of research papers on the above mentioned areas of Political Science in various regional and national journals and books. Her book titled Regionalism in Meghalaya was published in 2005. She is deeply interested in Indian classical music and had a training in vocal music. About The Book:- The Most Significant Agent Of Radical Politics In Meghalaya Is The Cpi Which Is One Of The Oldest Political Parties In The Country. From Its Very Inception, The Cpi Claims To Have Championed The Cause Of The Tribal People And Stood For Safeguarding Their Identity. Nevertheless, The Cpi Has Not Been Able To Achieve Any Significant Breakthrough In The Politics Of Meghalaya.
