Face
Put thanaka powder in a small bowl, around 50% of bowl should be filled with powder and add water (room temperature) by slowly mixing until you create a paste.
Apply paste on your face and leave it overnight. Paste will slowly remove your acne and over constant use make the skin smooth.
Facial scrub
Put powder in a bowl and add room temperature water slowly by mixing until you form a paste. Paste should consist of 50% thanaka powder.
After you are satisfied with your paste apply it to your face and scrub. This will remove dead skin cells and clean your skin. After scrub leave the paste 25-30 min on your face and then wash your face with water.
Skin Foundation
Apply the thanaka paste (after you mix it, in a way we described in a first two examples) as a foundation all over your face. Next you can put a make-up on the paste.
Sunscreen
Apply the thanaka paste all over your face and leave it. Like this thanaka will perform now as your 100% natural sunscreen.
Body

Instructions on how to use Thanaka powder:
Traditional Thanaka treatment – for smoother and softer skin
Mix 1-2 teaspoons pure Thanaka powder with the same amount of water until it forms a creamy paste. Apply the cream evenly over your cleansed face. The mask will dry after 5 to 10 minutes depending on its layer thickness. The mask can easily be washed off with lukewarm water after 20 minutes. We recommend application once or twice a week. As a result, your skin will be smoother, softer and have a more even tone.
Relaxing Thanaka
To form a gentle exfoliating paste Thanaka powder can easily be combined with honey and milk.
- Mix Thanaka powder with honey and milk
- Apply cream to your face and gently massage it in a circular motion
- Let the cream rest for 5 minutes
- Rinse the paste off with lukewarm water.
Effective Thanaka – rehydrates and nourishes your skin.
- 2 teaspoons pure Thanaka powder
- 25 gram grinded walnuts
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 4 tablespoons milk
Preparation: Mix all ingredients together until you form a creamy paste. Add some more milk if the paste is too thick.
How to use: Apply the paste evenly over your face. Leave the facemask on for 15-20 minutes and wash it off with lukewarm water.
Inspiring Thanaka – smoothes and softens skin naturally
2 teaspoons Pure Thanaka Powder
- ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
- ¼ teaspoon honey
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil or avocado oil
Preparation:
Mix thanaka powder, turmeric powder and coconut/avocado oil together until you form a creamy paste. Add some honey to the paste and stir well. Add some more powders if the paste is not sticky enough.
How to use: Apply the paste evenly over your face using a fan brush. Leave the mask on for 20 minutes and wash it off using a wet face towel that you do not mind getting stained.

Preparation
Mix pure Thanaka powder with the same amount of kusumba oil until it forms a brown/beige coloured, oily cream. So, for 100ml of kusumba oil you will need about 40-50g of Thanaka Powder (quality Thanaka powder is usually grinded in very thin particles and has a rather big volume).
