This Wireless Modem Router is user-friendly as it can easily be set up on your Local Area Network (LAN) to connect to the Internet and configure basic wireless connectivity. This Modem Router provides you with a smooth and secure way to set up a wireless network with fast access to the Internet over a high-speed Digital Subscriber Line (DSL).

The Netgear DGN1000 comes with a Smart Wizard installation CD to walk you through the installation process to connect the Router, microfilters and PCs. The Router comes with a built-in firewall, as well as physical buttons to control the state of your wireless network.

Design and Finish

Integrated with one antenna, this sleek and handy Modem Router is lightweight in the literal sense, as it weighs just 265 g. The Netgear device has 9 LED indicators and icons on its front panel, indicating the Power status, 4 LAN ports, DSL condition, Internet port, Wireless and WPS status. Starting from the left to the right, the rear panel consists of RJ-11 ADSL port that connects the device to an ADSL line. This is followed by four Local Ethernet RJ-45 LAN ports (for connecting to the local computers), a Power on/off button and an AC power adapter input.

The Smart Wizard setup on the Resource CD that is provided with the Router takes about 15 minutes to complete. It can be used on a PC with Microsoft Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP or Windows 2000 with Service Pack 2.
