Malaikkallan (Tamil: aமலைக்கள்ளன், English: Thief of The Hills) is a Tamil language film starring M. G. Ramachandran in the lead role. The film was released on 22 July 1954, and was "an astounding success". Box office hit of the Year 1954. It ran more than 140 days in Chennai and all other major cities. [3] It was the first Tamil film to win a President's Silver Medal.[4][5]
